So, I was riding with a buddy of mine and he says that he needs to pick up his girlfriend. Not having anything to do by myself, I decided to go with him since we were going out anyway. We're in the living room waiting for her to come downstairs. She said that she was ready to leave but she was waiting for her pc to shutdown. We were waiting for thirty minutes before I decided to check what was up. And there she was; sitting in front of her pc, staring at a blue screen that said "Windows is shutting down." My initial reaction was to smack my forehead, but then I just went to reboot her pc and started taking care of the problem. advertisement
Now, I know that a lot of people have encountered a computer shutdown problem before. A lot of people attribute this to an improper shutdown but sometimes, the problem can be more than that. So let's get down to the mystery. Windows shutdown problems can be one of three things, or quite possibly all three of them. I've been talking about how to tweak your pc to make it a little faster and I've written about registry errors that can happen quite often. This problem can also be a result of concerns within your computer's registry. Some of it might be minor, but they can eventually bode for a really short life expectancy for your unit.
When you install new programs into your system, make sure that those programs are from a reliable source and that there aren't any incomplete or missing files. When you add or remove programs from your pc, some files may be damaged and some might contain errors that may lead to registry corruption. When you shutdown your computer, it makes sure that everything is in order. When something is off, it may lead to slowing the shutdown process. While your programs are being ceased, some spyware or virus might still be running without your knowledge. Even when everything is shutting down, they could still be running thus delaying the process or ceasing it altogether. To take care of this problem, use a registry cleaner. Whenever you feel that your browser is really slow, then you should try using a cleaner. I personally use Ccleaner because it's a free download and it's proven itself to be pretty reliable. You can easily select which files to clean up and you can deselect the files that you don't want it to touch and trust me, there are places that you don't want it to touch otherwise, you may find yourself with other concerns. Don't try to use it all the time and only use it when you feel that you need to. I've already written a blog about protecting yourself from spyware and malware and other malicious programs so I won't go into that. Suffice to say, security is still a concern with context to this problem. If you have problems shutting down then the first thing you need to consider is that you didn't shutdown your computer properly. It's the simplest problem and a lot of people tend to overlook that. Take proper care of your computer and it will work efficiently.
