With the Snow Leopard out on the market and Windows 7 coming out on October, I think it's time we updated our buying list. A lot of people want to have the cheapest solution available, but they don't want to be ripped off. You might want to put price above quality, especially in times of recession, but let's face it, quality comes at a price. Although there's nothing wrong with getting a second hand laptop, you should really think about getting something new to support the Windows 7 and Snow Leopard. If you've been ignoring all the news about Windows 7, then you need to listen now. To put it simply, it's the upgrade that improves on XP and trumps Vista. advertisement
Yes, I'm sure. It might be heavier than XP, but it will work on netbooks better than Vista does. Other than the way it looks on the outside, which has already endeared me to the OS, the browsing features are just better. The toolbars are so much more useful now since it improves on a dock's functionality. Media Player playing while you browse for songs or videos is simply gravy on the chicken. You'll want to keep your desktop clean. Snow Leopard should be perfect for MacBooks simply because of how light and fast it is. Apple didn't do a total revamp on the look of the desktop, but the faster speed and the better browsing features make a fine combination.
It's not my ideal gaming computer, but I don't really play games on a laptop. Take it from me. It's safe to give a high school kid or middle school kid a laptop for studying because no one plays with a laptop. Getting a kid a Mac is sure way to get him to use it for studying and divert their attention to more productive endeavors. Why do you think most college students use a notebook? If you absolutely DO NOT need to use a laptop computer on the go, then you should really hold off buying until the holiday seasons since there's going to be all sorts of great stuff coming out. For starters, the new version of the Intel Core i7 will be out on November. This is the kind of quality that you can't put a price on, that's why waiting 'til the holidays for the best deal is the best way to go about it. Santa Claus will reward you for your patience because waiting in line with a hundred other people and sitting in the holiday rush traffic will be so worth it. If you're buying something as expensive as a laptop, you should be smart about it. It isn't like assembling a PC since you can buy the parts separately. (Most people don’t even trust themselves to assemble there own PC) [ via Gizmodo]
