There are a lot of people who spend their time on computers today than there were five or six years ago. Back then, regular folks used to casually go online to check e-mail, send e-mail or read news online. Outside of work we watched more television than spend time on a computer. In a span of two years things have changed. People can't get enough of the internet so much so that they even keep it in their pockets. You can say that it's because you can conveniently stay connected or because your job demands that you stay connected to the internet, but the fact is, people spend more time online because there is simply a lot more to do.

I know that a lot of people out there pay a lot of money to reformat their hard drive. A format is like a fresh start and it'll make everything seem like it was brand new. So what exactly do you need before you embark on this journey of cleansing? You'll need your Windows installer CD, driver installers and all the essential things that you'd like to reinstall.
The first step to doing a format on Windows XP, as with any format that you might want to do, is to backup all your files. If you don't know how to backup your files then you should just save the programs that you want to keep unto a memory stick, a dvd or an external hard disk, or you can read up on how to backup your files.
Now, formatting your hard drive can be easy or hard depending on which which one you want to format.

With all the people that are connecting to the internet it's practically a requirement to have some sort of social media connectivity. If you've just been going on the internet just to read the news or because you use e-mail, then it shouldn't be anymore trouble to start a social networking account. Twitter and Facebook are very popular forms of social networking websites and it's always best to have an account at the most popular one. Why? simply because it's popular. Logically, the more popular it is the more people know about it, and the more people that know about it, it just means that more people use it.

So the other day I posted 3 easy tips to personalize your Facebook account; in retrospect, I don't think that they were incredibly helpful and I don't think they change your experience of using it. But if you think that it was a good start then I've got lot's more where that came from. After a little digging with Google, I found a couple of applications that really can change your experience as a user. I've tried these out myself and I personally think that it's made things easier for me as a whole, so I hope that you can use it to.

Considering that I put up a post about how we shouldn't use Facebook all the time, I think that this post might be contradicting what I posted the last time, but what the hey? I think that people should know how to show off with nifty internet tricks. If you think that an application doesn't really have a real practical purpose but you think it's awesome anyway, you should definitely show it off to your friends anyway because who knows when you get to do it again. It'll be especially sweeter if you have a friend who's pretty techie but doesn't really explore his Facebook account.

I've been going over the feeds that I put up on my Twitter account and read some pretty disturbing news about Facebook. No, it's not some obscene scandal about the social networking website but some food for thought no less. It might be a sign of the times, but I'll let you decide when you take a look at what my link led to. It doesn't seem unusual to encounter a careless or for this matter, a very unintelligent person, but there are people like that. And I'm not talking about criminals. People today are pretty engrossed with the internet.

Give Opera 10 A Chance
There are a bunch of really great browsers out there. Although I personally use Google Chrome as my default browser, I think that Opera 10 is one of the browsers worth trying out ultimately. You might find yourself making it your default browser. As a chrome user myself I don't feel all that alien to Opera 10 because some of its features are pretty similar. Chrome users might find the transition between browsers easy. The first similarity that you'll find is the speed dial page. It should look like Chrome's thumbnail page except that it doesn't show the recently and frequently visited web pages.

A Year Of Google Chrome
Since it was Google Chrome's birthday last week, I thought that I should do a little tribute. It's my default browser and I find that there aren't a lot of people who use it. Some might be intimidated by how it looks or maybe some really just prefer other browsers. This is my little birthday greeting but, I'm not going to give you mindless rambles about how good Chrome is. On Compbuzz, I have easy to understand facts and today should be no different. So, as always, I'm going to lay things straight and tell you what's awesome about Chrome and why should try it yourself and I'm also going to tell you what makes other browsers better than it.

Pc Maintenance: Customizing Your Xp Desktop
For this edition of PC maintenance, I want to teach you and show you the benefits of customizing your desktop. A lot of people tend to overlook stuff like this and leave their desktop cluttered with shortcuts of applications they don't use and files that have been directly downloaded onto it. It isn't really maintenance in the sense that leaving it be might ruin your hardware or software, but it'll give you a nice sense of order and style. I picked Windows XP as the subject since it's in a lot of netbooks and because you may want your XP to look like Vista, but not to run like Vista.

Upgrade To Windows 7
Lots of Windows users are hotly awaiting the retail release of Windows 7 on October the 22nd. While some Vista users might have the easy option of upgrading their OS, XP users won't have a supported upgrade path to Windows 7. This was in an article written in pcmag.com. The article should contain some of the details of upgrading your Windows Vista when the new OS comes, but what about the people who have embraced the wonders of the Windows XP computer? For One thing, it should make sense that there shouldn't be an upgrade from XP because it's one OS further down.
