I'm sure that a lot of people using Facebook are having trouble with the new look and feel of it. I've heard a lot of comments from a lot of different people and they really don't like it all. They range from things like: "I have more junk popping up on my home page now than ever before." to "Why am I only getting yesterday's posts?" I know that you might think that it's a bit trivial, but then a lot of people really are confused. So I'll give you a little head's up. What is the difference between Live Feed and News Feed?
Live Feed - This is what you'd see on your home page before Facebook changed what it looked like. You see what your friends are posting when they're posting it. With the exception of the automated message of which of your friends has become the friend of some other person, everything should be back to normal if you set your feeds to this option.
News Feed - I particularly like this feed because it filters out all the other annoying stuff that your friends post. advertisement
It chooses posts of your friends based on which one has the most "likes" and which one has the most comments. Basically, it tries to choose which of the posts are the most interesting and it comes to you one day later. So it works like the news.
Facebook has already received a lot of negative criticism for that move. A lot of people are too confused about the change and a lot more didn't even know it was coming. It helps to know that Facebook didn't keep people in the dark. Although the announcement wasn't posted on your homepage, an explanation to the whole thing can be located on Facebook's notes page.
You can go to the Facebook profile page by scrolling to the bottom of the site page and then click on the "About" link. You'll find the profile page and a series of Notes, links and pictures of what the site is doing. Their notes page functions as the Facebook blog. If you have any comment about the site, I think it’s a safe bet that you can send them a message through there. It’s amazing because now you’ll know how much mail they’ll have to sift through. But then, squeaky wheels get the oil. If you’re one of the people who are dissatisfied with how the Feed functions then you should join the multitudes of comments and messages so the site should know that they should do something about this fiasco. I’m personally fine with this. I’ve already grown accustomed to the flood of game announcements, horoscopes and quiz results that plague my home page. Sometimes your brain just helps you skip over them.
