 There's a lot of speculation going on about Google's OS; a lot of it is that it's too different to work. Well, the company does have a thing for making things work. If you're open to the idea, you can make the OS work for you too.
1. It's free. Sure, the Linux distribution has been around for years, but Google is a name that's familiar to everyone and has become synonymous with free and affordable services (not to mention trustworthy). Plus the fact that it's open source means that it can be improved by anyone anywhere.
2. It’s familiar. It's a new operating system, but a lot of people are already familiar with Google Chrome. The operation system isn't that much different it's just bigger.

A secure system. A different operating system means different codes are at work. That's why there are viruses that can affect PCs while they don't affect Macs. The Chrome OS should be secure because it simply isn't profitable for a hacker to develop a virus for an system that only a small percentage of people use.
4. Google Support. Linux has been around for a long time and it's still not as popular as the mainstream operating systems because of a community that doesn't cater to beginners. It may be the OS of choice for many technologically adept users, but not for everyone.
Google bridges this gap because of a beginner friendly community and familiarity.
5. No hard drive needed. They're yesterday's news. All your files will be stored in a secure server. Pros: If you get hit by a virus you don't need to worry about your hard drive failing. Cons: If the server fails, you might lose your files.
6. Lite. It should have an amazingly quick boot and lighter applications since everything is on the internet. It's definitely perfect fro netbooks.
7. Not evil. It's the resounding motto that makes the company okay to trust. They hold on to a lot of personal information and we're still okay with that. Let's just hope it stays that way.
